On Thursday evening 21 March 2013 in Amsterdam, a unique delegation of youth representatives of the three political parties with parliamentary representation in Zimbabwe jointly engaged in a public debate to share their views on recent developments in Zimbabwe and the role of youth in the country’

This was the advice that Malawi’s former Vice President, Dr. Justin Malewezi offered to 18 politicians drawn from all the member political parties of the Malawi Centre for Multiparty Democracy (CMD-Malawi) at the graduation ceremony of their political leadership training.

We expect so much from political parties and politicians and yet very little is done to better prepare these politicians and political parties in as far as leadership is concerned. 26 Feb 2013 - Senior officials from the SPLM held a bilateral meeting on Tuesday with experts from the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD), which focused on dialogue among political parties in the country.

On Thursday 21 March NIMD and Zimbabwe Watch organise a debate on youth and politics in Zimbabwe, whereby three young Zimbabwean politicians will discuss the (political) future in Zimbabwe.

On Wednesday 27 February NIMD organised a second multi-party conference since the start of its activities in South Sudan in 2012. The workshop was attended by 8 political parties with representation in Parliament. The conference aimed to jointly reflect on interparty dialogue.

Political parties across Myanmar’s political spectrum gathered in Yangon for a two-day seminar on the Role of Political Parties in Democratic Transitions on 19-20 February 2013.
