Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy

Working with the Centre for Multiparty Democracy (CMD-M), the NIMD programme in Malawi has helped political parties and the Malawian Electoral Commission (MEC) develop joint initiatives to make the electoral process more transparent, achieve agreement on conflict-prevention procedures, and organize political education programmes to overcome voter apathy in the run up to the 2009 elections.
