Year of Publication: 23 April 2009

Article in the London-based Zimbabwe Times on the visit of Ministers Elton Mangoma and Welshman Ncube to NIMD

Harare, April 23 - Minister of Economic Planning and Investment Promotion, Elton Mangoma will be the guest of honour at a meeting organised by the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMPD) in the Hague, Netherlands.

Minister Mangoma will address a meeting at the NIMPD offices on the 24th of April 2009. Thereafter, he will be a speaker at a public discussion on Africa Day, Saturday 25th of April 2009, which will focus on EU international cooperation policy and which will be opened by the Netherlands Minister of International Cooperation, Bert Koenders. The meeting and the public discussion will look into what forms of assistance the European Union and the Netherlands can give to promote Zimbabwe's economic and political turn around.

Meanwhile in an unrelated development, NCA leadership met with Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai.

The meeting was prompted by an invitation from the Prime Minister, who wished to discuss NCA’s opposition to the government-led constitutional reform process.

The NCA used the meeting to make clear its position regarding Article 6 and advocate for modifications to the constitution-making process that will bring it in line with the demands of Zimbabweans for people-driven constitutional reform.
