Knowledge Officer

NIMD is looking for a Knowledge Officer (38 h/w, based in The Hague).

Based in The Hague, the Knowledge Officer produces publications, develops knowledge products and facilitates knowledge sharing between NIMD programme partners and other stakeholders in democracy assistance.

Specific tasks of the Knowledge Officer include:

  • Implementation of knowledge projects in close cooperation with NIMD staff, partners in NIMD programme countries and external experts;
  • Organization of - and participation in - public events and knowledge-sharing activities including expert meetings, lectures, (e-mail) surveys and conferences;
  • Development and production of a wide range of publications, including handbooks, manuals and papers, but web-based tools and audiovisual material;
  • Management and further development of NIMD’s online Knowledge centre;
  • Management of NIMD’s library and online catalogue.

The Knowledge Officer is accountable to the Coordinator of NIMD’s Knowledge & Communication department, based at NIMD Headquarters in The Hague.

Requirements

  • A degree in (applied) political science and/or a demonstrated ability to grasp complex political processes and institutional developments;
  • Minimum of three years relevant work experience preferably in a similar position;
  • Capacity to deal with politicians and a wide variety of experts, practitioners and themes related to NIMD’s work with political parties;
  • Excellent writing skills in English required, proficiency in Dutch desirable, and additional command of French or Spanish an advantage;
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial personality with a feel for accessible knowledge and information products and a variety of target groups, including non-professional audiences.
  • Experience with online content management and documentation systems.

We are offering a salary of max. €4.284 per month on a full-time basis. You must be resident in The Netherlands or have a visa that allows you to accept work here.
