In Guatemala, NIMD helps local politicians and citizens, organised in Civil Action Committees (CACs), devise a Shared Municipal Agenda (Agenda Municipal Compartida): a joint plan for the development of their municipality.

The programme currently covers 27 municipalities in nine counties. With the programme NIMD and its partners are helping municipal governments to

- improve the management of public funds;
- raise the level of public services;
- and make them more accountable to residents.
