Nominate your democracy heroes now
On 15 september we celebrate de International Day of Democracy. On this day we award people for their special efforts in democracy development in 3 categories. Nominate your candidate now.
Part of the celebrations of the Day of Democracy is to award advocates of democracy through the Democracy Ribbons. This year there are 3 categories for nomination:
- National
- International
- Digital
Feel free to nominate your candidate by filling in the nomination form via the link below (the form is in Dutch). Name who you wish to nominate and why he/she deserves to win the (money) prize.
On 15 september 2011 NIMD celebrates the 4th International Day of Democracy. This day was declared by the UN to provide an opportunity to review the state of democracy in the world.
NIMD sees this day as a way to festively inform people about our work and to create awareness on the use of democracy around the world. Together with the European Partnership for Democracy (EPD), The House of Democracy and Rule of Law and Netwerk Democratie, NIMD is organising a 24 hour programme filled with inspiring events with national and international guests.
