Karijn de Jong works as a Senior Policy Officer for the Africa Regional Team and has a legal background with a specialization in European and International Law.
After her studies, she joined the European Centre for Development Policy Management (ECDPM) in Maastricht. At ECDPM she worked on political governance issues in the context of European Development cooperation.
After four years, she joined the British Department for International Development (DfID) as a governance advisor and worked in Kenya and Ghana for three and two years respectively. In this position she covered a broad spectrum of issues, ranging from budget support and public sector reform to electoral assistance, constitutional and legal reform and support to civil society.
In April 2006 Karijn joined NIMD as senior policy officer Africa.
