Anne-Mieke van Breukelen joined NIMD as a junior policy officer Africa for NIMDs programmes in Mozambique, Zambia and the Africa Regional Programme (ARP).
In 2005 she finished her Bachelor Degree in Cultural Anthropology and Development Studies at the University of Nijmegen, and in 2006 she obtained a Master's Degree in Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
After 3 months of internship at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2006, and an internship at IKV/Pax Christi, Anne-Mieke started working for a small NGO in Leiden in 2007. There she worked for 2 years as programme officer for a community based development programme in Tanzania, Zambia and Mozambique, with a focus on water, sanitation and community health.
