Since April 2011 Marieke works as a Communication Officer for NIMD.

Marieke followed the International Baccalaureate programme at the United World College in Swaziland, southern Africa. After this 2 year period she studied International Development in Wageningen focusing on Communication, Technology and Policy.

In 2007 she started working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a web editor and after 2 years became the editor in chief.
